South East Caddies Championship

The SEC championship is a competition that runs from the start of the golfing season in April, through to March the following year. There will be one championship event a month where players will earn SEC points depending on how well they do in each event.

Each position will be settled by count-back method.

Ties are separated by the best score over the final nine holes.

If the best score for the last nine holes does not separate out a winner, then the final six holes are used, and, if that still fails to provide a definitive outcome, the final three holes.

If a tie still persists then the score on the final hole is used.

2021/22 Standings

SEC 2021/22 Champion

Dean Newnham

Dean was crowned our first SEC Champion after earning a total of 51 SEC points and managing to participate in all 7 events. He posted 3 great 17 point scores to win him the title amongst 35+ members.

Game 2 - South Essex Golf Club - 17 SEC Points

During game 2 Dean managed to win the day by getting 36 points playing off a 17 handicap.

Game 3 - Ballards Gore - 17 Points

After winning game 2 Dean was cut to a 16 handicap. This didn't seem to affect him after he performed yet again in game 3 by earning 38 points on the day.

Game 4 - Hever Castle - 17 Points

After an impressive display in game 3, Dean's handicap was cut 2 meaning he was playing off 14 going into this event. In tough conditions Dean managed to claim 2nd place and a nearest to the pin on hole 12 which got him another 17 SEC points.

Those 3 impressive scores were too much for runner up George Darby who claimed 2nd place with 43 SEC points. Dean will be defending his title in the 22/23 season playing off a 10 handicap.
